Fountain in Villa Borghese with a Seder and a Woman fighting over a seder baby...yes, those are stone rabbit heads.

It was a beautiful day today in the city.  Rome is getting nicer by the day, and it's barely February.  I have no objections to evading the freezing Providence winter. I spent the day at Villa Borghese, a sprawling estate-turned-park above the city, reading, drawing, and wandering around.  I found a pond where I can rent a little row-boat for 3 Euro/20 minutes.  That will definitely happen.  I hope to be posting a drawing-a-day (give or take).  So far, that makes me 14 days behind schedule.  Only two weeks in and it feels like I've been here for months. I'll put up some of what I already have in subsequent posts. As for now, I'm wrapping up my first post by saying that I came to Rome in hopes of learning about a new culture, learning a new language, and learning more about myself.  I plan to do these things by making lots of drawings, drinking lots of espresso with the locals, and exploring Europe as much as possible.  (Oh, and going to class, too.) Salute!
